It’s a wrap: News this week (March 31 – April 2)

This week’s developments show enterprises moving toward large-scale deployment across AI, infrastructure, and sustainability. Companies are combining automation, energy strategy, and partnerships to support growing digital and AI-led demand.

Autodesk and Pinnacle Infotech partner to drive digital construction adoption

Autodesk and Pinnacle Infotech signed an MoU to accelerate digital adoption in the construction sector, with a focus on integrating software tools with engineering workflows. The partnership is structured to enable real-world implementation of technologies such as BIM, digital twins, and data-driven project management.

The collaboration aims to improve project delivery efficiency by enabling open and connected digital workflows across the construction lifecycle. It will also include joint initiatives such as pilot projects, training programs, and enterprise deployments to bridge the gap between technology and execution in construction projects.

HCLTech launches AI Force 2.0 to automate enterprise workflows

HCLTech introduced AI Force 2.0, an updated enterprise AI platform designed to automate workflows across software engineering, IT operations, and business processes. The platform combines generative AI with agentic AI, allowing systems to take context-aware decisions and execute tasks independently.

It is built as a modular, model-agnostic system that can work across enterprise environments. The platform includes prebuilt agents, prompts, and workflows, along with governance tools such as Responsible AI evaluators to ensure auditability and fairness. The release reflects growing enterprise demand for AI systems that can handle multi-step processes with limited human intervention.

STT GDC India and CleanMax expand renewable energy partnership beyond 130 MW

STT GDC India and CleanMax expanded their renewable energy agreement to over 130 MW, adding new solar capacity to support data centre operations. The partnership uses a mix of solar and wind energy to provide round-the-clock power across facilities.

The expansion reflects a shift in how data centres are powered, as AI workloads increase energy demand. Companies are integrating renewable energy into core infrastructure planning to ensure reliability while meeting sustainability targets. The move also aligns with broader goals such as carbon neutrality and long-term cost efficiency in high-compute environments.

Airtel invests $1 billion to scale Nxtra data centre business

Bharti Airtel secured $1 billion in funding for its data centre arm Nxtra, with investments from global firms including Alpha Wave Global and The Carlyle Group. The capital will be used to expand data centre capacity and build infrastructure to support AI and cloud demand.

Nxtra currently operates multiple core and edge data centres and plans to scale capacity significantly in the coming years. The expansion includes AI-ready campuses and services such as cloud infrastructure, disaster recovery, and edge computing. The investment highlights rising global interest in India’s data infrastructure market, driven by enterprise digitisation and AI adoption.
