It’s a wrap: News this week (April 13 – 17)

From Wipro's quarterly numbers to a real estate developer going digital, this week's tech activity in India centred on AI adoption, new partnerships, and expanding capability centres. Here is a look at the key developments.

Wipro Q4, deal wins signal AI push

Wipro's fourth-quarter results for the period ended March 31, 2026, showed gross revenue rising to ₹242.4 billion, up 2.9% sequentially and 7.7% year on year, while net income came in at ₹35.0 billion, up 12.3% quarter on quarter but down 1.9% from the same quarter last year. The company's board also approved a share buyback of up to 60 crore equity shares for an aggregate amount not exceeding ₹15,000 crore at ₹250 per share.

IT services segment revenue reached $2,651 million, with large deal bookings standing at $1,440 million, up 65.1% quarter on quarter in constant currency terms. On the partnerships front, Wipro-bound Mindsprint, currently being acquired by Wipro for $375 million, partnered with monday.com to deliver integrated digital operations solutions, combining workflow automation with enterprise transformation capabilities. Under the agreement, Mindsprint will deploy solutions spanning IT service management, CRM, and work management within the monday.com ecosystem. The deal is expected to close by June 30, 2026, pending regulatory approvals. Neither company has clarified whether the engagement will continue under Mindsprint, transition to a broader Wipro-led alliance, or change after the acquisition closes.

Progress Software expands Bengaluru GCC to drive AI-led growth

Progress Software announced the relocation and expansion of its Bengaluru office, marking a milestone in the growth of its India Global Capability Centre. The new facility at Embassy Tech Village is purpose-built to support engineering, product development, sales, customer success, marketing, and operations.

Nearly 25% of Progress' India workforce now supports global sales, support, and marketing functions. CEO Yogesh Gupta said India is central to the company's AI product portfolio and that the expansion is intended to enable faster collaboration and delivery across global teams. The company has offices in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and New Delhi, contributing to work in AI, data platforms, digital experience, and infrastructure management.

Autodesk and Prestige Group to digitise real estate project lifecycle

Prestige Group signed a three-year enterprise partnership with Autodesk to digitise its end-to-end project lifecycle and standardise execution across its portfolio. The company will deploy Autodesk Forma, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and the Autodesk AEC Collection across its residential, commercial, retail, hospitality, and mixed-use developments.

The deployment integrates design, scheduling, cost, and execution workflows into a single digital environment, allowing project stakeholders to work on shared data sets and reduce delays caused by siloed systems. The announcement positions Prestige Group among the first real estate developers globally to implement 4D and 5D workflows at this scale using Autodesk technologies.

Tech Mahindra integrates SAP Joule to speed up enterprise implementations

Tech Mahindra is adopting SAP Joule for Consultants to strengthen its SAP delivery capabilities and support faster enterprise transformation programmes, streamlining implementation workflows across the entire SAP project lifecycle — from discovery and design to development, testing, and post-deployment support.

Early deployments indicate up to 28–30% reduction in research time, with consultants estimated to save two hours per day by automating routine knowledge retrieval. Tech Mahindra joins a growing list of global system integrators, including KPMG and Wipro, that are leveraging SAP Joule for Consultants to enable more efficient digital transformation programmes.
