Bengaluru-based NxtGen Cloud Technologies has received dual honourable mentions in the Asia-Pacific region at the 2026 Red Hat Ecosystem Innovation Awards. The company was recognised in the “Container Champion” and “Hybrid Cloud Everywhere” categories for its cloud-native transformation and hybrid infrastructure work built on technologies from Red Hat. The awards were announced at the Red Hat Summit 2026 held in Atlanta earlier this week.

NxtGen said the recognition reflects its work in helping enterprises modernise infrastructure using Red Hat OpenShift while maintaining operational consistency across hybrid cloud environments. One deployment highlighted by the company involved a national electoral authority, where it adopted a container-first architecture to modernise a large-scale digital platform.

According to NxtGen, the system achieved over 99.9% availability during peak operations while improving infrastructure utilisation from 35% to 80%.

In another project, the company said it developed a sovereign cloud platform for a manufacturing enterprise using Red Hat OpenShift Virtualisation. The deployment reportedly reduced virtualisation costs by up to 70% and enabled migration from legacy infrastructure without operational downtime.

“As enterprises increasingly operate across on-premise, private cloud and public cloud environments, operational consistency and sovereignty are becoming business-critical requirements,” said A S Rajgopal.

The recognition also comes amid NxtGen’s broader push into sovereign AI and GPU cloud infrastructure, as enterprises and governments seek India-hosted AI compute capabilities. Earlier this year, the company partnered with Dell Technologies and NVIDIA to build what it described as India’s largest sovereign AI factory powered by more than 4,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs for AI training and inference workloads.

NxtGen has also partnered with Bosch Software and Digital Solutions to launch a sovereign industrial AI cloud platform focused on digital twin, Industry 4.0 and industrial AI applications for Indian enterprises. Separately, the company expanded its sovereign AI platform “M” with NVIDIA-powered inference capabilities aimed at enterprise-grade agentic AI workloads hosted entirely within India.

The company is also participating in the Andhra Pradesh government’s “Swadeshi AI stack” initiative alongside IBM and BharatGen to support sovereign AI infrastructure and regional language AI applications for governance and public services.

Industry executives say the latest recognition underlines the growing importance of sovereign cloud and AI infrastructure providers in sectors such as financial services, manufacturing and government, where data localisation, compliance and operational resilience are becoming increasingly critical.

Kevin Kennedy said the awards recognised partners delivering measurable business outcomes through open-source technologies across AI, cloud modernisation and infrastructure transformation initiatives. “Together with partners like NxtGen, we are powering the future of open-source innovation and modern enterprises worldwide,” he said.
