TCS partners with Mistral to bring enterprise AI platform Forge to global clients

Indian IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has partnered with French artificial intelligence company Mistral AI to deploy enterprise-grade AI systems globally, becoming the first global systems integrator (GSI) partner for Mistral Forge, the company’s enterprise AI platform.
Under the partnership, TCS will use Mistral Forge to help enterprises and governments build, fine-tune and deploy domain-specific AI models using proprietary enterprise data and operational knowledge. The collaboration will initially target sectors including banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), manufacturing, healthcare and the public sector.
The move comes as enterprises increasingly seek alternatives to generic large language models and look for more controllable, industry-specific AI systems amid rising concerns around data privacy, governance and sovereign AI requirements.

As part of the agreement, TCS will establish a dedicated Centre of Excellence for Mistral to drive joint innovation, industry-focused AI solutions and early adoption of Mistral’s beta models. The centre will also focus on training, delivery capabilities and governance frameworks for enterprise AI deployments.
“TCS’ global scale and contextual industry knowledge make them an ideal partner for Mistral,” said Arthur Mensch, chief executive officer and co-founder of Mistral. “Together, we are enabling enterprises worldwide to move from experimentation to AI deployment with systems that are open, production-ready and aligned with their strategic and operational requirements.”
K Krithivasan, chief executive officer and managing director at TCS, said the partnership strengthens the company’s broader AI ecosystem strategy.

“The partnership with Mistral reinforces TCS’ commitment to scaling enterprise AI with trust, control, and measurable business outcomes at the core,” Krithivasan said. “Together with Mistral, we will solve for specific industry challenges, regulatory requirements, and sovereign needs for our enterprise customers.”
The partnership reflects a growing enterprise shift toward customised AI infrastructure rather than relying solely on public AI platforms. Companies globally are increasingly prioritising AI models that can operate within enterprise environments, comply with local regulations and integrate deeply with proprietary business data.
Mistral, one of Europe’s fastest-growing AI startups, has emerged as a prominent challenger in the global AI race with its focus on open and enterprise-ready AI models. The company has positioned itself as an alternative to US-based AI firms by emphasising openness, data control and sovereign AI capabilities.

For TCS, the alliance forms part of its broader “Infrastructure to Intelligence” AI strategy, under which the company is investing across AI infrastructure, platforms, models, data and intelligent automation systems. India’s largest IT services company has been expanding partnerships across the AI ecosystem as global enterprises accelerate AI adoption beyond pilot projects into production-scale deployments.
