TCS builds AI-ready data platform hub with Oracle in Kolkata

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched what it calls India’s first Oracle AI Data Platform Lab and Centre of Excellence in Kolkata, as enterprises increasingly invest in AI-ready data platforms and agentic AI applications.
The TCS facility, housed at Delta Park Lords in Kolkata, has been designed to help enterprises accelerate AI adoption by addressing challenges such as fragmented data environments, limited AI scalability and operational inefficiencies. The lab will leverage Oracle AI Data Platform, which combines Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Autonomous AI Database and OCI Enterprise AI, to help organisations build AI-ready data foundations and deploy agentic applications.
TCS said the centre will provide customers with reusable architectures, industry-specific solutions and accelerators to convert enterprise data into actionable intelligence and scale AI-driven automation. The company also plans to expand the Oracle AI Data Platform Lab and CoE model to four additional locations across India over the next three years.

“The Oracle AI Data Platform Lab and Centre of Excellence will deliver Oracle’s industry-leading AI capabilities, database and cloud-native solutions to TCS clients around the world,” said Sudipto Ray, Vice President and Global Head, Oracle Practice, TCS.
The launch comes as IT services providers increasingly invest in AI infrastructure, industry-specific AI platforms and data modernisation capabilities. Earlier this week, TCS expanded its partnership with Anthropic to help enterprises deploy AI at scale, while companies including Infosys, Wipro and HCLTech have continued to strengthen AI-focused offerings and workforce skilling initiatives.
Separately, Cognizant announced it will deploy Oracle Fusion Cloud Recruiting to support AI-driven talent acquisition across its operations spanning more than 60 countries. The company, which employs over 350,000 people globally, said it selected Oracle's platform for its embedded AI capabilities, scalability and ability to support both standardised and localised hiring processes.

Cognizant also plans to use Oracle AI Agent Studio to build custom AI agents for recruiting workflows and business processes, as enterprises increasingly turn to agentic AI to improve productivity and employee experience.
