Hexaware to invest £25 mn in UK expansion, create 1,200 jobs in AI and digital services

IT services firm Hexaware Technologies will invest £25 million (about $34 million) to expand its operations in the UK, a move expected to create around 1,200 jobs across Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham over the next three to five years.
The investment, announced alongside a broader package of international investments unveiled by the UK government at the G7 Summit, will support Hexaware's expansion in artificial intelligence (AI), digital services and quantum technology initiatives in the country.
According to the UK government, the expansion will include strengthening the company's delivery centre in Birmingham and establishing research and development centres in Manchester and Leeds. The investment is expected to generate high-skilled jobs while supporting innovation in emerging technologies such as AI and quantum computing.

"Hexaware has worked alongside businesses in the UK for more than three decades. We have very high ambitions for our growth, creating impact in the UK and proudly supporting the Government's inclusive vision for AI," said R Srikrishna, chief executive officer of Hexaware Technologies.
The announcement comes weeks after Hexaware agreed to acquire UK-based consulting firm Consulting Professionals Services (CPS) for up to £11 million, strengthening its advisory and cloud transformation capabilities in the region.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the investments would help create thousands of high-skilled jobs while supporting innovation and economic growth amid global uncertainty. The government's investment package includes commitments from Indian and French companies totalling £1.3 billion for clean energy, AI, and advanced technology projects.

Hexaware's investment forms part of the UK government's industrial strategy to attract capital into priority sectors including AI, advanced computing and clean energy. The company's expansion is expected to bolster the UK's technology ecosystem outside London, particularly in the Midlands and northern England.
The UK is one of Hexaware's key overseas markets. The company, which serves clients across banking, healthcare, manufacturing and retail sectors, has been expanding its presence in the region through new facilities, partnerships and acquisitions.
