LTM partners Cognition to automate cyber risk remediation in financial services

Indian IT services firm LTM has partnered with US-based artificial intelligence startup Cognition to deploy autonomous software engineering agent Devin as part of its cybersecurity platform, in a bid to embed agentic AI into enterprise security operations.
The partnership will initially target banks, insurers and capital market firms, where rising AI adoption and increasingly complex software environments are making vulnerability management more difficult. Under the arrangement, Cognition's AI coding agent Devin will be integrated into LTM's BlueVerse RightLogic cybersecurity assessment and risk assurance platform to automate vulnerability remediation while keeping engineers in the review loop.
The move reflects a broader shift across the technology services industry as firms increasingly deploy autonomous AI agents beyond software development into security, infrastructure management and enterprise operations.

Unlike conventional vulnerability management tools that identify security gaps, the integrated platform is designed to prioritise vulnerabilities based on business criticality and regulatory exposure before routing high-confidence remediation tasks to Devin. Human engineers will review code before deployment and handle more complex cases.
LTM said the platform could help enterprises increase Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) remediation coverage from about 60% to 80%, reducing the growing backlog of unresolved security issues across enterprise environments.
"The financial services sector is under constant pressure to strengthen security while accelerating AI adoption," said Harsh Naidu, Chief Business Officer – Banking & Financial Services at LTM. "The platform is intended to help organisations automate remediation while improving cyber resilience."

Financial institutions have become a key focus area for cybersecurity vendors as AI applications introduce new attack surfaces while regulators demand stronger governance around software supply chains, identity, third-party risk and AI systems.
As part of the partnership, the two companies will jointly offer AI-led vulnerability remediation, legacy application modernisation, software development lifecycle automation, database migration and technology rationalisation services.
The collaboration also highlights how IT service providers are investing in training engineers to work alongside AI agents rather than treating them as standalone tools. LTM said it has already trained a large pool of engineers on Devin to accelerate enterprise deployments.

The announcement comes amid growing enterprise adoption of agentic AI across software engineering.
Earlier this year, Cognition acquired AI coding startup Windsurf in a move aimed at expanding its enterprise software engineering capabilities following growing demand for autonomous coding agents. Separately, several global technology firms, including Accenture, Deloitte and IBM, have expanded investments in AI-powered software engineering and security automation platforms as enterprises look to reduce manual coding and accelerate application modernisation.
Cybersecurity is emerging as one of the fastest-growing use cases. Enterprises are increasingly seeking AI systems capable of not only identifying vulnerabilities but also recommending and executing remediation while maintaining governance and human oversight—particularly in regulated industries such as banking and financial services.

The partnership marks the first phase of a broader collaboration between LTM and Cognition, with plans to extend the use of autonomous AI engineering across additional industry verticals over the coming year.
