CaratLane taps Oracle cloud to overhaul finance, inventory operations

Tata-owned jewellery retailer CaratLane has moved its finance and supply chain operations to Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, replacing legacy systems as it looks to automate business processes and manage growing complexity across its expanding store and ecommerce network.
The retailer has deployed Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM) applications to bring finance, inventory and supply-chain processes onto an integrated platform, the companies said on Tuesday.
The technology overhaul comes as CaratLane expands its omnichannel footprint. Founded in 2008, the company currently operates more than 380 stores across over 150 cities alongside its ecommerce business, and recorded 34% year-on-year business growth in FY26.

As the business expanded, CaratLane faced the need to manage seasonal demand more efficiently and improve visibility across its physical and digital operations. The company subsequently decided to replace its legacy finance and supply-chain systems with Oracle's cloud applications.
“Delivering a seamless and personalized customer experience required greater visibility and closer coordination across our business,” said Gurukeerthi Gurunathan, chief product and technology officer and co-founder of CaratLane.
Gurunathan said the deployment has helped the retailer build a more connected operating model, while data-driven insights would help it respond faster to changes in customer demand as its omnichannel business scales.

The move reflects a broader push among large Indian retailers to modernise core enterprise systems as expanding store networks, ecommerce operations and increasingly complex supply chains generate larger volumes of operational data.
CaratLane is using Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP to standardise financial processes, strengthen controls and improve financial closure. The SCM platform is being used to improve inventory visibility and omnichannel order management, while providing a common data layer for operational decision-making.
The applications also include embedded artificial intelligence capabilities designed to automate processes and surface insights from finance and supply-chain data.

For retailers operating across physical stores and online channels, inventory visibility has emerged as a critical technology requirement as companies seek to determine where products are available and fulfil orders across multiple locations while managing seasonal fluctuations in demand.
“As retailers navigate evolving customer expectations and increasingly complex operations, they need integrated systems with embedded AI that provide greater visibility, efficiency, and agility,” said Shailesh Singla, vice-president, Applications, Oracle India.
Singla said the deployment provides CaratLane with a scalable technology foundation connecting critical business processes as the retailer continues to grow.

CaratLane, which became a wholly owned subsidiary of Titan Company in 2024, has increasingly used technology to integrate its online and physical retail operations. Its latest enterprise technology overhaul brings finance and supply-chain systems onto the same cloud application suite, giving the company a common platform as its store network and transaction volumes expand.
