Zee New Media, the digital arm of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (Zee), has launched Ditto TV, the Over-The-Top TV (OTT) distribution platform, to offer live TV channels and video-on-demand Video (VOD) content to consumers on their mobile phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, entertainment boxes and connected TVs.
Ditto TV will be available in the UK, UAE, New Zealand and Australia along with India. By end of this quarter, it will also be available in the USA.
Currently hosting a total of 21 channels, Ditto TV has partnered for content with Sony Entertainment Television, TV Today Network, BBC and Zee. It intends to offer a complete set of 50 channels shortly.
The OTT distribution platform offers features such as adaptive streaming, an electronic programme guide and a content recommendation engine. It also allows customisation, both in cost as well as choice of content. Users are given the option to handpick a basket of channels according to their personal preferences. Different price points offer absolute control of channel selection, with prices starting as low as Rs 49.

Ditto TV has also partnered with Siemens Communication to develop a technology platform that will offer adaptive streaming.
It will also be available as an application in Apple's app store, Android Market and BlackBerry Application World. One will also get Ditto TV's prepaid cards in retail stores like Croma and Vijay Sales with whom Ditto TV has entered into a distribution alliance.
