Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) has promoted Manoj Padmanabhan as its business head for New Media. As part of his role, Padmanabhan will be heading all digital operations of Zee Media including Essel group's online TV subscription platform Ditto TV. Before Padmanabhan, Vishal Malhotra was looking after the digital business. Malhotra resigned from the post earlier this month after a stint of three and a half years at the company, as reported by Bestmediainfo.com. Prior to his promotion, Padmanabhan was senior VP â€“ marketing (digital) and sales (New Media) at ZEEL. Before joining Zee Network in November 2007, he was working at Tata Coomunications as DGM - marketing, and head of alliances & partner relation. Before that, he was a senior marketing manager at Sansui India for eight years. He holds a BE degree in industrial electronics and a MBA degree in marketing from University of Pune.
Zee New Media, the digital arm of ZEEL, had launched Ditto TV in February 2012 to offer live TV channels and video-on-demand Video (VOD) content to consumers on their mobile phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, entertainment boxes and connected TVs. Apart from India, the service is also available in the UK, UAE, New Zealand and Australia.
