Micromax launches Canvas Power A96 & Canvas Duet II for Rs 9,990 and Rs 15,990 respectively

After launching the Canvas Turbo Mini smartphone offering late last month, home grown handset and tablet manufacturer Micromax has launched two more devices in the Indian smartphone market. Christened Canvas Power A96 and Canvas Duet II aka EG111, the two devices run on the Android Jelly Bean operating system and have been targeted at the mid-price range segment of the market. While the Micromax EG111 is available for Rs 15,990, Canvas Power A96 has been priced at Rs 9,990.

The second dual-SIM smartphone that comes with both GSM and CDMA support, Canvas EG111 sports a 5.3 inch IPS HD touchscreen display (1280×720 pixel resolution) and runs on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 4GB.

It has an 8 megapixel autofocus rear camera with Flash that can also record high definition videos (720p) at 30 frames per second and a front facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the smartphone has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, and comes with a microUSB port.

The company has provided a 2,300 mAh battery in the device that it claims will provide up to 4 hours of talk time and 150 hours of standby time. The smartphone has FM radio, and comes with dual-SIM capability. The dimensions of the device are 76.9mm x 154.9mm x 9.9mm and its weight is 164gm. It is currently available in black colour. While the company has not officially launched the device, it is available for purchase online for Rs 15,990.

The smartphone sports a 5 inch TFT FWVGA touchscreen display (480×854 pixel resolution) and runs on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MTK 6582M processor and has 512MB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 4GB, which can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

It has a 5 megapixel rear camera with Flash that can also record high definition videos (720p) at 30 frames per second and a front facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the smartphone has Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, 3G, & comes with a microSD card slot and microUSB port.

The company has provided a 4,000 mAh battery in the device that it claims will provide up to 5.5 hours of talk time and 450 hours of standby time. The smartphone has FM radio, GPS, and comes with dual-SIM capability. It is currently available in black colour. The company has also pre-loaded a number of apps like Hike Messenger, Spuul, Opera Mini, and Kingsoft Office Suite, among others.
