E-learning platform for professionals Simplilearn names Prashant Radhakrishnan as sales chief

Bangalore-based Simplilearn Solutions Pvt Ltd, the company behind Simplilearn.com, an online education and training destination for professional certification courses, has appointed Prashant Radhakrishnan as its chief sales officer. In the new role, Radhakrishnan will head Simplilearn's sales teams across the globe.

Radhakrishnan comes with over 17 years of experience in sales and marketing across multiple verticals and industries. Most recently, he was involved in setting up of his own a venture the healthcare e-commerce space. In the past, he had worked at companies including Dell, Infosys and Fabmart.

"Radhakrishnan's experience at successfully leading strategy and business across multiple industry verticals will play a crucial role in our efforts to achieve the next leap of growth," said Krishna Kumar, founder and CEO, Simplilearn.

The company was founded in 2009 by Kumar, a BE in electronics and communication from the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka. Prior to this venture, Kumar had worked with Infosys and TechUnified.

Simplilearn is an online learning destination for young working professionals, who are looking at career enhancement through certification courses across industry verticals. With study centres across the globe, Simplilearn offers over 80 certification courses across 11 categories. It offers certification courses in Project Management, IT Services & Security Management, Financial Management, Big Data & Cloud Computing, SAP Certification, and Agile & Scrum Certification. The company offers classes in several formats, including self-paced online learning and instructor-led classroom training.

At present, the company claims to be training about 5,000 professionals on a monthly basis, and has served over 100,000 professionals in 150 countries till date.

In August 2012, the company had raised an undisclosed amount in funding from IndoUS Venture Partners (now Kalaari Capital).
