Sony unveils Xperia E4 budget smartphone; Samsung Galaxy J1 launched for Rs 7,190 in India

Samsung has further expanded its Galaxy range of devices with the launch of a new smartphone. Christened Galaxy J1, the device sports a 4.3 inch display and runs on the Android operating system. The smartphone has been priced at Rs 7,190 in the country, and it is currently available for purchase on Amazon.in.

The e-commerce site is also offering a number of freebies with the device that include free data worth Rs 600 available from Reliance Communications and Aircel, as well as a free content package worth Rs 1,400 from Starsports.com.

In addition, Sony has also unveiled a budget smartphone offering called Xperia E4. A part of its entry-level E series, this one also runs on the Android operating system, but sports a slightly bigger 5 inch display. However, the highlight of the smartphone is the fact that it can run two full days on a single charge (at least that's what the company claims). Sony adds that users can further extend the battery life by using the STAMINA and Ultra STAMINA modes. Details on its pricing or exact launch date for India is not available as of now.

This one sports a 5 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display (960x540 pixels resolution) and runs on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 8GB that can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.
