MobiKwikGurgaon-based One MobiKwik Systems Pvt Ltd, which runs online recharge platform and mobile wallet venture MobiKwik.com, has clocked over 10 million downloads on the Android platform, the company said in a press statement.

MobiKwik, which has over 17 million mobile wallet users presently across Android, IoS, Windows and its website, had crossed the five million downloads threshold (for Android) in November 2014.

As per details shared by the company, New Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai are the fastest growing tier one cities for its app while Jaipur, Lucknow and Chandigarh are tier two cities with highest number of downloads.

Founded in 2009 by Bipin Preet Singh and Upasana Taku , MobiKwik enables prepaid mobile, DTH and data card recharges, post-paid mobile bills payment and utility bill payment for electricity, gas and landline connections. It also offers these services via SMS, phone and apps that are available for Android, iOS and Windows platforms. The firm recently revamped its website and logo.

MobiKwik claims that it has partnered with over 50,000 businesses across e-commerce, online food ordering, cab services and QSR chains in the country to offer digital wallets so that consumers can directly pay from their wallets while shopping online. Consumers can also make P2P money transfer using the wallet.

Recently, MobiKwik announced a $25-million funding round from Cisco Investments, American Express and Treeline Asia. Last year, MobiKwik had raised under $5 million in Series A funding from an unnamed US-based VC firm.
