Housing hires ex-KPMG director as senior VP

2 May, 2016

Real estate portal Housing.com has appointed former KPMG director Dilip Tuli as senior vice president for strategy and new business.

Tuli will be responsible for assisting with strategy and overseeing new business initiatives such as transaction facilitation and fulfilment services, Locon Solutions Pvt Ltd, which runs Housing, said in a statement.

At KPMG, Tuli was director with the deal advisory practice and was a senior member of the sector team responsible for logistics and industrial markets for the past two years. Prior to KPMG, Tuli was associated with PwC. He is an alumnus of Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi, and is a chartered accountant and chartered financial analyst.

Recently, Housing also appointed Vineet Singh, former business head of property portal 99acres, in a senior advisory role. Singh also invested an undisclosed amount in the company.

Besides Singh, Housing has brought in senior executives including chief financial officer Mani Rangarajan, chief marketing officer Nikhil Rungta and general counsel Nandini Mehta over the past few months.

The top-level appointments come as nine of Housing's 12 founders, including CEO Rahul Yadav who was fired by the board last year, have left the firm at various stages to start on their own. Yadav late last year launched his e-governance startup Intelligent Interfaces, which received funding from Flipkart founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal and cricketer Yuvraj Singh's YouWeCan.

A week ago, three Housing co-founders – Abhishek Anand, Ravish Naresh and Sanat Ghosh – left Housing to start a new venture. Most recently, Advitiya Sharma, who quit a month ago, has started a chain of Genius "micro" schools.

Housing.com competes with 99acres.com, Magicbricks.com, CommonFloor.com and PropTiger.com, among others. News Corp, which acquired the parent of this website last year, has a significant stake in Prop Tiger.
