HCL Tech develops AI platform for communication service providers

IT services major HCL Technologies has released an artificial intelligence-based automation testing platform for communication service providers, where they can assess their service offerings swiftly and in a less expensive manner, a company statement said.

Communication service providers (CSPs) are companies that transport information electronically such as any telecommunications service provider. They also include public or private firms in the telecom (landline and wireless), Internet, cable, satellite, and managed services businesses.

Called HCL Turbo, the new platform integrates with existing testing tools and equipment. The platform allows Internet bots to use analytics and AI to automate the testing lifecycle, the statement added.

“The emergence of virtualised and software-defined networks has significantly complicated network testing and fragmented accountability,” said GH Rao, president of engineering and R&D services, HCL Technologies.

HCL Turbo works seamlessly across networks, devices, and application testing. It can be deployed on the cloud, on-premise or in hybrid environments. Rao claimed that a customer that recently used the platform in beta mode saw its operational expenditures reduce by 30%.

Besides AI, HCL Technologies is also developing solutions on blockchain.

In May, it had joined the Blockchain in Transport Alliance (BiTA), a group of more than 200 companies that use the digital ledger technology behind bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in the transport industry.

HCL Technologies intends to use its deep expertise in digital technologies to develop blockchain-based solutions for the transport and supply chain industries. 

To promote blockchain, the company has developed the CoTrust Blockchain Application Platform for rapid development and deployment of blockchain applications. The platform offers services with key features, such as a managed platform, end-to-end security, automated on-boarding and structured application programming interfaces.
