Infibeam Avenues Ltd, the parent of payment gateway CCAvenue, said on Friday it has entered into an agreement with UAE-based Alrowad Information Technology Solutions LLC to expand its web service and payment platform business in the Middle East and Africa.  

Under the agreement, both the companies will share knowledge and experience to develop a multi-currency and multi-country e-commerce marketplace, Infibeam said in a statement. They will also colloborate on a payment platform and data centre services for private and public sector in the region.

The pact will help Infibeam grow its business in the Middle East and Arab League countries.

“The alliance will create a unique business synergy to share business knowledge, market experience, and technology know-how to implement large scale projects,” it added.

Alrowad has implemented multi-million-dollar projects in the UAE. This includes providing digital solutions for UAE Civil Defence, including permits and monitoring.

In March, Infibeam struck a partnership with Dubai-based UniProptia Group to expand its web service solutions business in the Arab League countries.

Founded in 2010 by former Amazon executive Vishal Mehta, Infibeam started off primarily as an e-commerce firm, but pivoted its business model subsequently. In March 2016, it became one of the youngest firms to list on the bourses after floating its initial public offering.

In January, Infibeam agreed to sell its wholly owned subsidiary Infinium (India) Ltd to Ingenius E-commerce Pvt. Ltd, which operates business-to-business industrial goods aggregation platform Tradohub.
