Healthians, an online platform that provides medical and diagnostic services at home, has reportedly acqui-hired Healthy Labs, which offers logistics support for medical diagnostics centres.
As part of the first acqui-hire deal for cricketer Yuvraj Singh-backed health startup, Healthy Labs’ entire team of 30 people will join the Healthians’ team. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
Gurugram-based Healthians plans to make inroads further south in the Indian market via inorganic routes such as acqui-hiring, which is more focused on leveraging the skills and experience of the employees rather than products or services.
Healthy Labs, founded in 2018, is a Mumbai-based health logistics startup founded by former Godrej and GKS Qatar executive, Nikhil Jadhav. The startup, which was incubated by Nasscom, has operations in four regions of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune and Nasik. The firm services the likes of 1RupeeClinic and Way2Health.
Healthians, owned by Expedient Healthcare Marketing Pvt. Ltd, was founded in 2014 by Deepak Sahni. In collaboration with doctors and hospitals across India, Healthians provides its users insights into their health vulnerabilities.
The following year, in 2015, Yuvraj Singh’s early-stage venture fund YouWeCan Ventures invested an undisclosed sum. In 2016, the platform raised $3 million in its Series A round of funding led by venture capital fund Beenext.
