US-based enterprise software firm Infor has announced creating the India Business Unit (IBU) comprising India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan to tap growth opportunities in this vast region.
The software firm said Ranga Pothula will be the managing director and general manager for the IBU to drive the next phase of growth.
Pothula has served Infor for 22 years. He has played key roles in product development, delivery services and managed services. He has also been responsible for global delivery services operations in India, the Philippines, Egypt and Poland over the past four years.
“Infor has a robust product innovation and growth roadmap that places a laser-sharp focus on delivering exacting customer demands for last-mile functionality specialized by industry,” said Pothula.
Infor chief executive officer Charles Phillips said the IBU is in response to the market opportunities afforded by digital technologies such as cloud, mobility, artificial intelligence and IoT in accelerating innovation across public and private sectors in India.
According to the company, the announcement reinforces Infor’s long-term commitment and investments in this market. India is among the company’s top two largest locations in the world with over 3,000 people in the region.
Pothula said he would seek to scale the IBU’s operations by sharpening focus on global delivery, servicing offerings, technology developments, and strengthening customer and partner relations.
