Automated smart parking solutions application Park+ has entered into a partnership with Bengaluru based security and community management solutions provider MyGate to create an integrated vehicle system for the residential market.

The collaboration will see the solutions of MyGate and Park+ being offered on a single platform.

The combined solution will first be offered to gated communities in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai, while other major metros are expected to be added to the list in the coming two financial quarters, according to a statement.

According to Park+, vehicle management is a huge challenge in gated communities. Resident welfare associations typically resort to buying boom barriers -- the red-white security barricades -- to secure the premises, which lead to vehicle congestion at the gates. The Park+ and MyGate collaboration is aimed at resolving this issue.

“This will not only save time for residents but also help in reducing car thefts significantly in these societies,”  Amit Lakhotia, founder, Park+ said.

Through the new solution, residents of MyGate communities can have their vehicles fitted with radio frequency identification tags (RFID) that will automatically trigger the opening and closing of the gate or boom barriers.

Residents will also be notified of any movement of their RFIDs, acting as an anti-theft alert mechanism for residents.

The advantage on offer here is that the solution would now be offered in a pay-as-you use model. The companies claim that the technology would lead to less congestion in the main gates and also record vehicular movement digitally.
