GlobalLogic buys UK firm ECS Group to boost cloud services, expand presence

Digital product engineering company GlobalLogic has acquired London headquartered ECS Group to add cloud-centric solutions to its portfolio, expand its financial services footprint and advance its European strategy. 

ECS, which leverages cloud technology to offer digital solutions, focuses on areas of digital engineering, data analytics and customer experience. It also provides cloud architecture and advisory services proficiency.

Under the agreement, ECS will continue to operate with its existing leadership and staff as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the San Jose, California-based company, a statement said. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We’re always in search of differentiated companies that enhance our capabilities and expand our reach,” Shashank Samant, president and CEO of GlobalLogic, said.

“ECS’ expertise in complex cloud services, its strong position and presence in the UK, and the company’s heritage in regulated industries such as financial services are all valuable additions to GlobalLogic,” he said.

ECS is an advanced Amazon Web Services (AWS) consulting partner and Amazon Connect Service Delivery partner, and has an AWS DevOps competency accreditation.

“Joining GlobalLogic is a game changer for ECS. With access to a broader set of competencies and global scale, we can address a wider range of client opportunities,” Mark Farrington, CEO of ECS, said.
