Palo Alto, California based cloud data management company Rubrik has appointed former Nutanix regional sales director Ritesh Gupta as its country manager for India.
Rubrik, which employs over 1,600 people globally, has over 220 employees at its Bengaluru office, according to Linkedin.
Gupta will now be responsible for driving business through the existing partner ecosystem in India and establishing new ones with local system integrations.
“I’m excited to have Gupta join the leadership team to lead our India business, as we continue to expand our presence across the Asia Pacific region,” Kamal Brar, Vice President and General Manager, Rubrik, Asia Pacific and Japan said in a statement.
Prior to Rubrik, Gupta headed the sales for the India west region business at Nutanix since 2016. Before that, Gupta worked at VMWare for more than 5 years at roles such as regional sales manager and area manager.
An MBA finance graduate from the University of Mumbai, Gupta’s other stints include with companies such as Hewlett Packard, Wipro and Microland.
“I am excited to be part of a company that is on a hyper-growth journey. Through my initial interactions with partners and customers, they have given me encouraging feedback on Rubrik Cloud Data Management solutions,” said Gupta on his appointment.
Founded in 2014 by Arvind Jain, Arvind Nithrakashyap, Bipul Sinha and Soham Mazumdar, Rubrik provides a single, policy-driven platform for data recovery, governance, compliance and cloud mobility.
The company has raised $553 million in over six funding rounds, with its most recent funding round of $261 million, led by Bain Capital ventures in January 2019.
In 2020 the company made two acquisitions. In February, it acquired Silicon Valley based Opas AI, a company working on AI based IT root cause analysis. The most recent acquisition for Rubrik was Seattle, Washington based SaaS solutions provider Igneous on December 16.
