British firm Softline Group to acquire Embee Software

London-based global IT solutions provider Softline Group on Thursday announced the acquisition of Kolkata headquartered Embee Software for an undisclosed amount.

The Microsoft partner, founded in 1987, will be integrated with the UK firm’s subsidiary Softline Services India, helping the unit strengthen its offerings in the areas of cloud, workplace modernization, system integration, managed services and app services.

The merger, expected to be finalised in the next 18 months, will see a complete integration of the platforms, a statement said.

“Embee is a Microsoft partner with over 30 years of experience in cloud solutions and services. We believe this strategic combination will be a big step towards the expansion of our regional footprint,” Sergey Chernovolenko, global CEO of the Softline Group, said.

Embee has over 1,500 customers, with nearly 400 employees across Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi. The company Embee also has experience integrating systems for brands such as Adobe, HP and Cisco, which, as per Softline International president Roy Harding, is an advantage in India.

“Softline Group is one of Microsoft’s eight globally managed LSPs, and this partnership represents a great opportunity to expand Embee’s reach within India as well as overseas,” Sudhir Kothari, managing director of Embee Software, said.

Softline Group’s consolidated turnover in 2020 was over $2 billion, with sales growth at 13.2% year-on-year. The company has offices in 50 countries and 95 cities worldwide, with a focus on the emerging markets of Eastern Europe, Americas and Asia. Softline mainly deals with public and private cloud adoption, software and hardware provisioning, and associated services.
