Delhi-based Hero Electric Vehicles, part of the Naveen Munjal led Hero Eco Group, saw the demand for electric vehicles (EV) plummet in the early months of 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In an interview with TechCircle, Sohinder Gill, CEO of Hero Electric spoke about how the company dealt with the lockdown affecting EV manufacturing, the strategies it adopted to expand user base and plans for 2021.

Among other things, Gill explained virtual selling at the company. “There was a huge change in the mindset of people, earlier they wouldn’t believe it, but now most of the dealers are happily managing things digitally,” he said.

Gill has worked in the two-wheeler segment for over four decades now. A 12-year Hero Electric veteran, he has previously worked with other companies such as Hero Honda, Kinetic Honda, Escorts Motorcycles and Larsen and Toubro.
