HCL launches new centre in Canada, to create 2,000 more jobs

HCL Technologies on Friday said it has opened an innovation centre focused on digital acceleration, its latest global delivery centre, in Mississauga, Ontario.  

The Noida headquartered information technology (IT) services company added that it plans to create 2,000 new employment opportunities in Canada in the next three years. 

The new centre will help HCL deliver next-gen services including digital and analytics solutions, cloud consulting and migration, cybersecurity, IT infrastructure and application services, as per a statement.

“From our newest center, clients can experience a whole new world of technological innovation enabled by leading edge immersive technologies, HCL’s best in class intellectual property solutions and a unique design thinking approach to some of the most complex problems of Canadian enterprises,” Joelien Jose, EVP and country head HCL Canada said. 

The new centre has a seating capacity of 350. It houses co-innovation labs for customers to ideate, collaborate, develop and deliver solutions. 

HCL has been operating in Canada for the past 12 years. It had launched its first office in Toronto in 2009, and the first GDC in New Brunswick in 2019. It also plans to expand offices in British Columbia and Alberta.

HCL currently employs over 1,100 people in Canada.

In a related development, HCL announced a plan to hire 1,000 employees for its campus at MIHAN (Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport) in Nagpur, in February. HCL recently announced contract wins with companies like Airbus and Finastra, and strong Q3 results
