In a bid to bridge the digital skills gap, San Francisco, California headquartered customer relationship management (CRM) giant Salesforce has announced a collaboration with NASSCOM’s FutureSkills Prime Programme.

Salesforce will leverage its online learning platform Trailhead, under its next-generation skilling programme OneIndiaTalent Programme, to skill 1 lakh professionals, potential employees and students in India by 2024, a statement said.

In a recent study titled The Digital Skills Report, commissioned by Salesforce and YouGov, nine out of every 10 people surveyed in India believed that the Covid-19 pandemic had accelerated the need for digital skills in their respective organisations. Additionally, 91% of individuals surveyed from India said that the organisations they worked for had plans to address the digital skills gap.

The curated learning maps on Trailhead, called Trailmix, will aim to accelerate users’ journey towards building skills in emerging technologies and increase their aptitude in a digital-first environment, the statement added.

The collaboration will also provide learners access to Salesforce career fairs, in addition to mentorship opportunities, soft skills training and authorised certification aligned with the National Occupation Standards.

“Trailhead is designed to remove barriers to learning by empowering anyone to skill up for the jobs of tomorrow. We are excited to be associated with NASSCOM to provide a platform for continuous learning and bridge the digital skills gap in India,” Arundhati Bhattacharya, CEO and chairperson of Salesforce India, said.
