Tata Technologies has appointed Nivruti Rai and Ajoyendra Mukherjee as independent members of its Board of Directors. Rai is currently designated as vice president, Intel Foundry Services, at Intel Corporation and Country Head of Intel India. 

Both Mukherjee and Rai have been appointed as a director for a period of three years.  They will chair the audit committee and will be member of the nomination and remuneration committee. Rai would also be a member of the CSR Committee, the company said in a statement. 

Based in Bengaluru, Rai provides overall engineering and business unit leadership and leads operations for the site, driving innovation, cross-group efficiencies, and execution for engineering teams delivering global products and roadmaps.

She joined Intel in 1995 and subsequently worked in the CPU development organization in Oregon. Rai moved to India in 2005 to manage the R&D of mobile platform technologies used for handheld and laptop computers. 

Mukherjee is currently associated with several engineering colleges in Kolkata as an advisor and serves as director on the boards of reputed companies in the public and private sector. 

He superannuated from TCS in April 2019 after heading the Global Human Resources function for TCS for several years. He joined Tata Consultancy Services in 1980, right after he graduated from BITS.

During his tenure in TCS, Mukherjee worked in diverse roles and held key leadership positions, including head of India and Middle East & Africa (MEA) business units, head of TCS operations in Eastern India, Country Head of Switzerland and South Africa, Global Head of Energy & Utilities Practice and headed the Global CSR function. 

In his role as the Head of Global Human Resources function for TCS, Mukherjee played a key role in scaling up TCS to over 400,000 professionals spread across 50 countries, the company said. 

This appointment of the new independent directors will strengthen Tata Technologies commitment to talent development and technology-enabled growth, to better serve its employees, customers, shareholders, the statement added.
