Bengaluru headquartered information technology services company Wipro has partnered with Netherlands-based mapping and location data technology company HERE Technologies to offer asset-tracking, logistics, supply chain, smart-metering and analytics, field workforce management and other services to its clients.

The combined offerings from the partnership will target customers in the energy and utilities, manufacturing, transport and logistics, telecom and automotive industries.

“We are happy to be partnering with HERE Technologies to co-develop customized solutions, for customers who require location as a key component of their services.

We are excited about the future of this partnership and the potential it offers in the journey towards an autonomous world,” Sarat Chand, regional head and managing director – Benelux, Wipro Limited, said in a statement.

Wipro and HERE are working on developing an Internet-of-Things (IoT) based smart metering solution for tracking energy consumption and asset management.

HERE Tracking, a product of the company will help Wipro’s customers monitor and track assets, field engineers and supply chain on a real-time basis.

HERE also offers mapping-as-a-service solution to enterprises to build private maps and manage autonomous vehicles efficiently, providing information on routing time, speed, fuel consumption and hazardous conditions to the drivers.

“Combined with Wipro’s solutions, HERE location technology will open up further opportunities across different industries, providing customers with more relevant and customized solutions, leading to world-class user experiences,” Jason Jameson, senior vice president and general manager of APAC at HERE Technologies in the statement.

Recently, Wipro announced a partnership with DataRobot to co-develop solutions in augmented intelligence for its customers. Earlier this month Wipro partnered with California, US based network solutions provider IP Infusion to help customers enhance their network automation and simplify management across 5G networks.
