Newgen, Koo announce top deck churns

Low code automation platform provider Newgen Software on Friday said it has promoted senior vice president (VP) of sales, marketing and products, Virender Jeet, as CEO.  

The NSE-listed digital transformation services company also promoted its senior VP of business management, Tarun Nandwani, as its COO, as per a statement.  

Associated with the complete lifecycle of product development, sales and marketing, patents, and other strategic functions, Jeet has been with Newgen since the company’s founding days in 1992. 

On the other hand, Nandwani has been with Newgen for over 27 years and has been spearheading customer relationship management, commercial activities, new solution and application development.   

“With low code- and cloud-based digital transformation taking centerstage, we, with our recently unveiled NewgenONE platform, are well-positioned to help enterprises across industries accelerate their digital initiatives and achieve their business goals,” Jeet said.  

Koo

India’s answer to Twitter, Koo, on Friday said it has hired Phaneesh Gururaj as president of technology to lead the engineering and innovation team at the company.   

Prior to joining Koo, Gururaj led engineering and product teams at redBus.  

Phaneesh’s team in the Bengaluru based startup will include VP of engineering Badri Narayan, VP and head of mobile Pavan Kunchapu, and data platforms head Vivek Yadav, as per a statement.  

The newly appointed team will be tasked to further accentuate the engineering capabilities and ensure that the technology at Koo is prepared to manage the next level of scale, the statement added.   

At the end of August 2021, the vernacular achieved 10 million downloads, just 16 months of going live.
