While 2021 was known to be the year when some of the marquee brands releasing NFT collections for their artists, this year the global films and entertainment industry giants are seemingly making their way into the digital asset industry.

In its bid to celebrate some of the most memorable moments from its filmography, Pixar Animation Studios has released the ‘Pixar Pals’ NFT collection featuring animated characters from its movies like Toy Story, Monsters University, Cars, Coco, Ratatouille, The Incredibles, etc., in association with platform VeVe Digital.

Rendered in full-colour detail and divided into three categories Common, Rare, and Ultra Rare, the NFT collectibles will be dropped on the NFT marketplace, VeVe. The floor price set for the collectibles is $60.

Non-Fungible Tokens, or NFTs are unique digital certificates registered on a blockchain, that can be used to record the ownership of a digital asset (such as an artwork or a collectible).

As per Pixar, characters that will be featured in the NFT collection are Woody from the film Toy Story, Mike Wazowski from the film Monsters Inc, Lightning McQueen from the movie Cars, 'The House' from Up, Edna Mode from the film 'The Incredibles', and more.

Interestingly, Pixar is packaging the NFTs in a randomised manner. In other words, the collectibles are packaged in a ‘blind box’, which ensures that buyers don’t get know which artwork they are getting hold of.

It may be recalled that Marvel Comics had also done a similar collaboration with VeVe Digital Collectibles to introduce a series of Spider-Man and Captain America NFTs in August’21.
