Bosch Global software technologies (BGSW) has launched a new centre in Pune at Panchshil Business Park, Balewadi.   

The new centre, which is expected to touch a headcount of 1,500 employees by next April, will work on innovating automotive and digital technologies.

The company said that it plans to hire fresh engineering graduates in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, the internet of things, and security domains. They will scout for students from Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering, and Instrumentation.

“BGSW is in the process of establishing new talent and innovation ecosystems with technology at its centre. We aim to develop a skilled workforce in Pune. This will be a crucial step in our journey of digital transformation,” said Dattatri Salagame, CEO of BGSW.

The first solutions from the centre, however, will only roll out in 2023, these will be connected products and solutions for automotive and digital enterprise solutions. The company also said it aims to touch 3,000 employees by 2025.

“Pune has a flourishing startup ecosystem with 3,200 upcoming startups. As the motor city of India, Pune also brings BGSW’s R&D facilities and services closer to our automotive customers and allows us to partner with them to innovate further,” said BGSW Pune centre head Amit Kumar Srivastava.

Srivastava added that the company will build a centre of excellence in the sub automotive areas of classical powertrain, automotive steering, e-mobility, and autonomous driving systems, among others.

Bosch Global is headquartered in Bengaluru and said that it is the largest technology centre for the company outside Germany. The company did not reveal details on its headcount in India.
