After putting up a web page indicating a launch early this month and then quickly pulling it down, Amazon India has finally launched the Prime Gaming service for personal computers (PC) in India, as part of its Amazon Prime subscription service. The Prime Gaming service provides users access to free mobile and PC games, in-game titles, and bundles at no additional fee. Amazon India first launched access to in-game content on mobile games in 2020.

With the new announcement, Amazon Prime subscribers will be able to access and download the available for free on their Windows PC; it will be available to iOS app customers from January 2023. Currently, the service has English as the default option, but Amazon India plans to add other Indian languages in the next year.

 Currently eight full games are available for free (for a limited period). These games include Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Doors: Paradox, and The Amazing American Circus, among others. Amazon will also have ingame content for popular AAA titles like  Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2, Rogue company, among others.

Currently, Prime Gaming is operating in several markets including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, etc. It was originally launched in the US in 2016 as Twitch Prime.
