The conversational AI tool ChatGPT from OpenAI just wrote a commercial advertisement. In the advertisement for Mint Mobile, actor and company owner Ryan Reynolds read a script composed by ChatGPT. Reynolds gave ChatGPT a prompt to write an ad in his voice, using a joke, a curse word, and inform viewers of the ongoing Mint’s promo.

ChatGPT delivered, what Reynolds called a ‘mildly terrifying, but compelling’ script for the commercial. ChatGPT produced this – “Hey, it’s Ryan Reynolds here. First of all, let me just say Mint Mobile is the shit. But here’s the thing, all the big wireless companies out there are ending their holiday promos, but not Mint Mobile. We’re keeping the party going cause we’re just that damn good. Give Mint Mobile a try. And hey, as an added bonus, if you sign up now, you'll get to hear my voice every time you call customer service. Just kidding. That's, that's not really a thing. And stay classy, everyone.” ChatGPT has already been used for a number of applications like generating code, writing poems, and writing essays.

Since its launch in November 2022, the smart chatbot has gone ‘viral’ for its human-like responses to natural language prompts from users. As per a Semafor report on January 9, Microsoft (who has already invested $1 billion in OpenAI in 2019), is in talks with pumping $10 billion into the ChatGPT-maker. Earlier a Walls Street Journal report said that OpenAI was in talks to sell its shares at a $29 billion valuation.
