ASUS India on Wednesday announced the appointment of Eric Ou as country head, president and director, Systems Group, ASUS India.  

Ou comes with over 23 years of experience in ASUS across different territories and functions, and has been pivotal in building the brand share to the market dominator position in the respective regions the company said in a statement. 

Additionally, the company has elevated Arnold Su and Dinesh Sharma to the position of vice president, having previously served as business heads for consumer and gaming PCs and Commercial PC and Smartphones at systems group, ASUS India, respectively.

The company’s India leadership revamp comes at a time when it has seen tremendous growth in the Indian Consumer PC market. The decision to elevate the leadership reflects the company's commitment to further expanding its India business, especially in the Commercial B2B space, the statement said. 

“Our goal is to provide every Indian with a meaningful technology experience that boosts efficiency and enhances their life. We are dedicated to delivering an exceptional customer experience and developing a strong brand that resonates with the varied usage needs of our consumers,” Ou said in a statement. 

Even as the PC market sees a decline in shipments and the leaders recorded a negative outlook in the last reported quarter, Asus has seen market share and shipments grow steadily

Earlier this year, the Taiwanese tech giant clocked 200 exclusive stores in India, and is targeting 100 more such stores by the 2023-end, according to a report by Hindustan Times published last month. The company has also grabbed a significant share of the India’s PC market. In the last quarter, Asus had clocked 6.8% market share, with a 15.5% increase in unit change compared with the year 2021 – in the same period, HP’s metrics declined 3.8% and Dell saw an 18.5% drop, as per a February report by research company IDC. 

Ou added that the company will continue to “push the boundaries and exceed expectations” in the consumer, gaming, and enterprise PC markets in India.
