Barracuda appoints Siroui Mushegian as its new CIO

US-based Barracuda Networks, a provider of email and network security solutions, on Thursday, announced Siroui Mushegian as its new chief information officer (CIO). Mushegian brings more than two decades of IT leadership experience to the company.

Hatem Naguib, CEO of Barracuda stated that as Barracuda continues to navigate the always evolving threat landscape, Mushegian's strategic thinking and dedication to excellence will play a pivotal role. "By leveraging Siroui's expertise, we aim to expand upon and to implement cutting-edge measures that safeguard our business, and by extension, our customers' assets,” he said.

Mushegian joins Barracuda most recently from BlackLine where she served as the vice president of IT, and was responsible for all aspects of the company's internal corporate IT.

Prior to BlackLine, she was the Chief Technology Officer of America’s flagship PBS station, The WNET Group in New York City, managing broadcast technology, corporate applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity and strategic technology initiatives and solutions throughout the organisation.

Prior to joining WNET, Mushegian was vice president of IT customer experience, program delivery and business operations at the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Previously, Mushegian was senior director, global IT customer service delivery and management at Ralph Lauren Corporation. She also served as associate director, IT Operations at Time Inc. the magazine division of Time Warner Corporation (currently Warner Media).

Mushegian, who holds a master of business administration in management and strategy from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business and a bachelor’s in mathematics and finance from University of Connecticut, said, “I'm thrilled to start this journey with Barracuda and eager to collaborate with the team to strengthen its systems and infrastructure.”

Cybersecurity is critical in today's digital landscape, and I look forward to contributing my expertise and strategic vision to Barracuda, she added.

In December last year. The company announced Joe Billante as its new chief financial officer. He joined the cyber security firm from eBay where he spent the last 13 years in several business, finance, and analytics executive leadership roles. Before eBay, he spent 11 years at General Electric in a number of finance roles including CFO for a $1B international division of GE Healthcare.

In April this year, Barracuda hired Maria Martinez as vice president of channels for the Americas, and promoted Karen Ward to vice president of MSP sales for the Americas. Martinez previously was Logitech’s head of channel partners and cloud platform alliances for North America. She has more than 20 years of channel experience. Ward has been with Barracuda Networks’ MSP business unit for more than six years, focusing on partner success and development.
