Randstad India, a human resource (HR) consulting firm, on Tuesday, appointed Anand Vaitheeswaran as chief information officer (CIO) for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Vaitheeswaran comes with over 27 years of experience in delivering innovative technology solutions to key business problems for organisations across industries. His experience in driving strategy, managing principal partnerships, establishing and running innovation hubs, building organisational capabilities, managing digital engagements, and offshore teams will be a crucial asset for Randstad, the company said in a statement.

Vaitheeswaran's deep understanding of new age technologies and cost optimisation of IT Operations will play a vital role in sustainably shaping Randstad’s technology landscape, embracing digital transformation, and delivering exceptional value to their customers across the country and in the APAC region, it added.

Vaitheeswaran joins Randstad India from L&T Technology Services Limited, where he served as chief information officer and was responsible for IT Infrastructure, Applications, Cyber security, and Compliance globally. He has also worked as head IT digital propositions and partner ecosystems at Philips and Philips Lighting, where he led the Digital Transformation team working on new business models in the area of personal health and responsible for development and deployment of solutions by leveraging artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML), data science and other advanced technologies.

Vaitheeswaran also spent close to a decade working at Honeywell Technology Solutions, where he served as the director of information technology.

After completing bachelor of engineering (B.E.) in electronics and instrumentation from Tamil Nadu College of Engineering, he pursued his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore (IIM-B).

Jerry Ibrahim, now the CTO at VMware and his colleague at Honeywell wrote on LinkedIn, “Anand's customer focus and thought leadership skills are top notch. Randstad India on Tuesday also announced the appointment of two more executives — Nittin Nangia as chief sales officer, Revathi Raghunath as chief marketing officer.
