Technology services and consulting company Wipro Limited has appointed Brijesh Singh to Senior Vice President and Global Artificial Intelligence (AI) Head for Wipro Enterprise Futuring.

Wipro Enterprise Futuring, created as part of the company’s new business model, effective April 1, 2023, offers clients distinctly forward-looking solutions for large scale enterprise transformation.

In February, Wipro announced four global business lines to deepen alignment with clients' evolving business needs and tap emerging opportunities in high-growth segments of the market. The new model, according to the company, would sharpen focus on strategic growth areas of cloud, enterprise technology and business transformation, engineering, and consulting.

Singh brings to Wipro over 30 years of experience in the technology consulting space. He was previously a Senior Partner at Deloitte where he was responsible for driving AI and data-led transformation. Prior to that he worked as partner with Verizon Enterprise Solutions, senior director with Siemens and associate partner at IBM.

Singh’s appointment follows Wipro’s $1 billion investment in AI and the launch of Wipro ai360. In July, the IT services company said that Wipro ai360 will bring together the 30,000 Wipro experts in data analytics and AI with Wipro’s technology and advisory ecosystem from four global business lines, including capabilities across cloud and partnerships, data, analytics and AI, design and consulting and cybersecurity.

“Artificial Intelligence is a fast-moving field,” said Thierry Delaporte, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Wipro Limited. “Especially with the emergence of generative AI, we expect a fundamental shift up ahead, for all industries. New business models, new ways of working, and new challenges, too. This is exactly why Wipro’s ai360 ecosystem places responsible AI operations at the heart of all our AI work.”

This is Singh’s second stint with the company, as 2005-2007 he served as regional manager with Wipro. As the global head of AI, he will be focused on advancing Wipro’s ai360 strategy, building capabilities to support and accelerate AI adoption across Wipro’s entire portfolio, and delivering AI-first solutions to clients.

"His appointment underscores Wipro’s commitment to integrating responsible AI into every platform, every tool, and every solution used internally and offered to clients," the company said in a press note.

Singh holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering from BIT Sindri. He will report into Nagendra Bandaru, managing partner and president, enterprise futuring at Wipro.
