Chinese technology major Lenovo announced on Thursday that it has launched new hybrid cloud platforms and services. The move comes as part of the company's $1 billion investment over the next three years in the expansion of infrastructure solutions to accelerate artificial intelligence (AI) deployment for businesses globally.

Lenovo unveiled ThinkAgile hyper-converged solutions and ThinkSystem servers that offer improved performance, management, and efficiency capabilities. These solutions are powered by the next generation of Intel Xeon Scalable Processors and provide up to 15% better performance. Customers can leverage these solutions to reduce their IT footprint, achieve greater ROI, and deliver accurate business outcomes. The solutions are offered in a consumption model and seamlessly integrate with existing IT infrastructure for a dynamic hybrid AI approach, according to Sumir Bhatia, President of Lenovo ISG in Asia Pacific.

The next generation of Lenovo ThinkAgile hybrid cloud solutions and ThinkSystem servers feature built-in AI acceleration with Intel's AMX technology. This technology increases efficiency and supports AI inferencing and training on models with up to 20 billion parameters.

Amit Luthra, Managing Director of Lenovo ISG in India, added that the Hybrid AI solutions provide a scalable pathway for AI implementations. These solutions are cost-effective and align seamlessly with the needs of diverse businesses in India.

Lenovo's ThinkAgile HX, MX, and VX solutions are optimized for AI. These turnkey hybrid cloud solutions feature the new 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors and an open ecosystem of partners, including Nutanix, Microsoft, and VMware.

The new hybrid cloud solutions offer enabling new capabilities, faster backup and recovery, and reducing deployment time by up to 75%, according to Lenovo.

In addition to its advanced hybrid cloud platform, Lenovo is helping customers accelerate AI implementation through its new Professional Services for AI. This service, powered by Lenovo's vast knowledge base and global team of industry experts, provides a single-vendor solution that helps organisations make sense of AI and guides them through the most effective, end-to-end IT deployments tailored to achieve desired business outcomes quickly.

In September, Lenovo launched “TruScale for Edge and AI” — a hardware device with over 150 readymade AI solutions that are designed to give companies immediate, scalable access to next-generation AI. The company also released the new ThinkEdge SE455 V3 edge server, an AI-ready hardware resource for businesses that build their own edge infrastructure.

In November, Lenovo Group announced its second quarter (Q2) FY 2024 results, reporting group revenue of $14.4 billion and net income of $273 million. Gross profit margin improved year-over-year (YoY) to 17.5%, a record high for a second quarter. The group’s diversified growth engines continue to deliver strong performance, with revenue from enterprise businesses accounting for 40% of overall group revenue, up three points YoY, the company said, as it continues to bet on AI, hybrid IT solutions and storage.
