IT services company Infosys has announced the renewal of its digital innovation partnership with the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) for three more years, till ATP 2026. This partnership extension entails application of Infosys’ expertise in digital technologies like AI, data analytics, and Cloud to enrich fan experience and player performance.

To be sure, the partnership started in 2015. Since then, they have been collaborating on innovative digital assets including reinventing the legacy ATP PlayerZone intranet portal, launching the first ever ATP Tour fan app, and several AI-first features powered by Infosys Topaz across the Infosys ATP Stats Center.

Features like live match viewing and tennis data analysis have led to a 50% increase in traffic on the stats section of the ATP website year-on-year, seeing over 5.7 million digital engagements. Along with current features like rally analysis, 3D visualisations, stroke summaries, and many point-by-point insight tools, Infosys and ATP will now focus on new innovations powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and data to personalise experiences for players and fans.

“We are proud and excited to extend our relationship with the ATP — it was our first partnership in the world of sports and has been integral to our global brand outreach,” said Sumit Virmani, EVP & Global Chief Marketing Officer, Infosys. “We are enthusiastic about the next phase of AI-powered digital innovations, driven by Infosys Topaz, which will demonstrate to all our stakeholders how we can amplify the potential of this sport, especially through AI.”

In January, Infosys said that it will leverage AI at the 2024 Australian Open (AO), as part of its ongoing partnership with Tennis Australia. Through the use of generative AI technologies, Infosys is aiming to enhance fan engagement, optimise player performance, and facilitate digital content creation, the company said in an exchange filing.

To achieve this, Infosys will utilise its AI-centric range of services and solutions, specifically Infosys Topaz, to enhance the AO experience. Topaz will provide LLMs and cognitive cores to enhance Tennis Australia's AI journey.
