New Relic, a web analytics and observability platform, has announced the appointment of Ashish Agarwal as its new Chief Financial Officer. Agarwal is a seasoned business leader with extensive experience in navigating the financial landscapes of technology-driven enterprises.  

In his new role, Agarwal will assume responsibility for overseeing global finance operations and shaping the company's strategic direction. 

Agarwal steps into the role previously held by David Barter, bringing with him nearly three decades of corporate finance expertise gained from both public and private sector ventures. His most recent tenure as interim CFO and Senior Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development at McAfee saw him spearheading critical initiatives, including the company's notable $936 million IPO and subsequent $14 billion private sale.

Prior to McAfee, Agarwal held influential positions at prominent technology firms such as Akamai Technologies and Symantec, where he played pivotal roles in orchestrating numerous mergers, acquisitions, and business development endeavours. Holding a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Delhi University, Agarwal brings a wealth of strategic acumen and financial prowess to New Relic's executive ranks.
