O9 Solutions, an enterprise AI software platform provider, has announced that it is expanding its collaboration with Microsoft to enhance the artificial intelligence capabilities of its Digital Brain planning platform. This collaboration involves integrating Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service applications into the o9 Digital Brain, aiming to elevate the platform's AI-driven planning functions.

Azure OpenAI Service offers access to powerful language models like GPT-4 and GPT-3.5-Turbo, which can aid in various tasks such as content generation, summarisation, and natural language-to-code translation.

The o9 Digital Brain, known for its advanced data processing abilities, utilises its Enterprise Knowledge Graph technology to convert both structured and unstructured data into actionable insights. With the integration of Azure OpenAI Service, the Digital Brain can now tap into resources like Microsoft Outlook emails, Word documents, Teams chats, and more, turning them into accessible knowledge for planners within organisations.

By leveraging Azure OpenAI Service, o9's AI service translates natural language queries into its proprietary integrated business planning language (IBPL), streamlining communication and understanding within the platform. The use of Azure OpenAI Service's embeddings further enhances semantic searches across the Digital Brain's Enterprise Knowledge Graph, ensuring more accurate results.

Moreover, the integration enables the development of digital assistant workflows, empowering efficient automation within enterprise planning operations. This framework utilises Azure OpenAI Service's chat-completion and code-generation features to provide intelligent responses to user queries. Over time, as the system accumulates more knowledge and refines its responses, it becomes adept at delivering insights swiftly and facilitating hyper-automation-based workflows.

“As companies look to continuously improve their supply chain operations and make processes more efficient, generative AI technologies and APIs will allow planning teams to leverage vast amounts of domain knowledge to make more informed business decisions in real-time,” said Chakri Gottemukkala, Co-founder and CEO of o9.

“We are pleased to strengthen our long-standing collaboration with o9 to make generative AI capabilities accessible to more companies. By integrating Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service into the AI-powered o9 Digital Brain platform, we can help manufacturers turn their data into action, allowing for faster decision-making and optimised planning,” said Dominik Wee, Corporate Vice President of Manufacturing & Mobility at Microsoft.
