TCS to modernise Virgin Atlantic’s operations with AI and cloud technologies

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will lead a major overhaul of Virgin Atlantic’s digital and operational systems, focusing on the use of artificial intelligence and cloud-first solutions. The aim is to enhance the airline’s operational efficiency, improve system performance, and support better customer and crew experiences. 

In a newly signed seven-year extension of their two-decade partnership, TCS and Virgin Atlantic will deepen their collaboration to modernise the airline’s core technology. The work includes the development of a centralised Technology Command Centre, designed to deliver real-time operational insights, streamline decision-making, and equip staff with timely, relevant data. 

TCS will implement an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered digital platform to unify and upgrade Virgin Atlantic’s existing technology systems. Proprietary solutions such as TCS Cognix and TCS AI WisdomNext will be used to improve automation, enable smarter operations, and support more personalised services across the airline’s functions. 

The digital transformation will cover various aspects of the airline’s business, including crew management, cargo, engineering, and enterprise platforms. A dedicated team from TCS, familiar with Virgin Atlantic’s operational environment, will manage the deployment and ongoing support of these systems.
