Pocket Entertainment, the company behind platforms such as Pocket FM, Pocket Toons, and Pocket Novel, has appointed Umesh Bude as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The decision marks a shift in the company’s leadership structure, with Bude moving up from his previous role as Senior Vice President of Engineering.
In his new position, Bude will lead the company’s overall technology strategy. His focus will be on improving AI-based storytelling tools, enhancing product performance, and streamlining user experiences across all platforms. He will continue reporting to Prateek Dixit, the co-founder of Pocket Entertainment.
Bude’s new role will involve advancing the use of generative AI in content creation and supporting the development of technology solutions that can work at a global scale.

Bude has close to 20 years of experience in engineering and technology. Before joining Pocket Entertainment, he held senior roles at various tech companies. He worked at Unacademy as Senior Director and later as Vice President of Engineering. Prior to that, he served in engineering and leadership roles at OYO, Akamai Technologies, and Sun Microsystems.
Commenting on his new role, Umesh Bude said, “It’s a privilege to take on this responsibility at such an exciting time for Pocket Entertainment. I look forward to driving the next wave of innovation, where technology and AI are not just enablers, but storytellers in their own right.”
“We are at a pivotal moment in our journey where technology and creativity are deeply intertwined. As we reimagine storytelling for the AI era, technology is the foundation,” said Prateek Dixit, Co-founder of Pocket Entertainment.

Bude holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur.
