Traton Group selects LTTS as strategic engineering partner

Commercial vehicle manufacturer Traton Group has chosen L&T Technology Services (LTTS) as its strategic engineering partner. Under this partnership, LTTS’ Mobility segment will support Traton to build a unified product-development platform that delivers scalable and sustainable mobility solutions worldwide.

LTTS will be providing engineering support in mechanical and software engineering to digital systems integrations across key development hubs in Sweden, Germany, the United States, Poland, and India.

The collaboration is expected to help LTTS to deepen existing workstreams and pursue new programs across TRATON’s brands (which includes Scania, MAN, International, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus), spanning software-defined vehicle architectures, electrified powertrains, autonomous & ADAS feature development, and advanced digital engineering toolchains.

Notably, this week, LTTS entered into an agreement with Liechtenstein-headquartered Thyssenkrupp Steering to set up a new software development centre in Pune.

The collaboration is intended to strengthen the development of software for advanced steering technologies. LTTS will establish and operate the centre, which will focus on creating safety-related software for modern vehicle systems. The Pune centre will work on embedded systems, safety functions, and cybersecurity, in line with the growing need for connected vehicle technologies.

Richard Hirschmann, Senior Vice President for Research and Development at Thyssenkrupp Steering, said the new facility would help the company expand its software capabilities and deliver updated steering solutions to customers worldwide.
