Aurionpro partners with MMRDA for Mumbai Metro fare collection project

Aurionpro Solutions has signed a contract with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to design, supply, implement, and maintain an Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system for Mumbai Metro Lines 4 and 4A. The deal is valued at about ₹250 crore.
The project includes providing ticketing and payment hardware, central clearing house software, and other necessary infrastructure. Aurionpro will also handle maintenance and support for a five-year period after the system is in place.
This agreement follows similar work the company has undertaken for Delhi Metro and Chennai Metro. With the new deal, Mumbai becomes the third major metro system in India to award Aurionpro such a contract.

The AFC system will integrate ticketing and payment operations for the new metro lines, which are part of a broader network being developed under MMRDA. The Mumbai Metro expansion is intended to improve connectivity within the city and across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
Aurionpro will deliver the system end-to-end, including equipment developed in India such as National Common Mobility Card-enabled readers and automated gates. The company’s AFC solutions are deployed across different transit modes, including metro systems, buses, ferries, and other urban mobility services. Its portfolio covers ticketing hardware, back-office software, mobile applications, reservation platforms, and operational control centres.
Sanjay Bali, President & Global Head – Tech Innovation Group (TIG) at Aurionpro, said, “Aurionpro will deliver full system implementation for the project, including the Central Clearing House Software (CCHS). This achievement further strengthens our global position as a leading end-to-end provider of cutting-edge Urban Mobility solutions, and we look forward to adding more such wins in the future.”
