Chennai-headquartered electronics components manufacturer Syrma SGS Technologies on Tuesday announced a strategic joint venture (JV) with Elemaster, an electronics design and manufacturing company headquartered in Italy.

The new entity, to be renamed Syrma SGS Elemaster Private Limited, will create an India-focused platform with a focus on delivering advanced, high-reliability electronics solutions for railway, industrial, and medical applications, the company said in an exchange filing.

Located in Bommasandra Industrial Area, Bengaluru, the facility will initially cover nearly 20,000 square feet, equipped for SMT, THT, and box-build assembly lines, it added.

By integrating Syrma’s cost-efficient execution capabilities with Elemaster’s engineering expertise and deep relationships with European OEMs, the venture aims to strengthen India’s role in the global high-reliability electronics value chain.

Sandeep Tandon, Chairman, Syrma SGS Technology, said that the partnership strengthens India’s position as a trusted global hub for high-tech manufacturing and will deliver long-term value.

This collaboration is expected to unlock growth opportunities in critical end-markets while aligning with India’s “Make in India” initiative. Valentina Cogliati, CEO, Elemaster Group, said in a statement, “India is a priority market for our global customers. This venture with Syrma SGS provides us with a reliable, scalable base in the region. Together, we will extend high-quality, Made-in-India solutions to our international partners.”

Founded in 2004, Syrma SGS has been delivering electronic systems design and manufacturing in India, serving over 300 clients across 20-plus countries. The company operates manufacturing facilities across the country with R&D centres in Chennai, Pune, Bangalore, and Stuttgart, Germany.

In July, Syrma SGS also entered a JV with South Korea's Shinhyup Electronics for manufacturing multi-layer Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), including flexible PCBs.
