Ajay Kashyap elevated to chief product & technology officer at LEAD Group

Edtech unicorn LEAD Group has elevated Ajay Kashyap, its former Chief Product Officer, to the role of Chief Product and Technology Officer, bringing product and technology under a unified leadership mandate. Kashyap will drive innovation at the intersection of pedagogy, engineering and AI-powered solutions to accelerate the company’s mission of transforming school education in India.
At the Mumbai-based company, Kashyap oversees the design and development of products for teachers, students, parents, principals, academic coordinators and school owners, ensuring a seamless user experience while delivering high-quality learning outcomes. He brings nearly two decades of experience in product management, entrepreneurship, data science and consulting.
Prior to joining LEAD, he was CEO and founder of Boxx.ai, acquired by Netcore, and has also worked with McKinsey, RedPill (acquired by IBM) and Crayon. An alumnus of IIT Bombay, Kashyap is recognised for his ability to scale technology-led businesses.

Alongside Kashyap’s elevation, LEAD has announced a series of leadership changes aimed at strengthening its executive team. Moiz Saif has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and will steer financial strategy and fiscal discipline as the company gears up for its listing journey. Deepak Hariharan has been elevated to Chief Business Officer to drive growth through deeper school partnerships and wider adoption of LEAD’s solutions across geographies. Prasad Narasimha has joined as Head of HR and will focus on building organisational capabilities, leadership development and culture.
“These appointments mark a pivotal moment in LEAD’s journey,” said Sumeet Mehta, CEO & Co-founder, LEAD Group. “Our vision is bold, and meeting it demands exceptional leadership, clarity of purpose and relentless focus on execution. With Moiz, Deepak, Prasad and Ajay stepping into their respective roles, we have fortified the leadership team that will take LEAD Group to its next frontier.”
Lead Group raised $100 million in January 2022, which propelled it into the elite club of startup unicorns, or privately held companies. Under its Vision 2030, LEAD aims to transform schools, empower teachers, and deliver measurable improvements in student outcomes, reinforcing its mission of making excellent education accessible to every child in India.
