Amazon Web Services (AWS) on Thursday said it has expanded AWS Marketplace in India, allowing customers to buy software and services from Indian technology providers directly in Indian Rupees. The move is expected to ease procurement, streamline compliance and accelerate cloud adoption among Indian enterprises.

AWS Marketplace is an online store that provides a curated catalogue of third-party software, data, and services that run on Amazon Web Services (AWS). It was created in 2012, making it the first cloud infrastructure provider to launch a marketplace.

The Indian expansion enables domestic Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), Consulting Partners, and System Integrators to list, sell, and transact in INR, supported by local invoicing and payment options. This includes companies such as Cisco, CrowdStrike, Deloitte, eMudhra, Freshworks, Gupshup.ai, IBM, Kore.ai, Palo Alto Networks, Redington, Salesforce, Sarvam, Sonata Software and VideoCX.io.
India-based customers, including Observe.AI, Swiggy, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) are already leveraging AWS Marketplace to simplify procurement through centralised billing, enhanced cost transparency, and improved governance.
“India's rapidly growing digital economy demands procurement solutions that match the pace of innovation,” said Ruba Borno, Vice President, Global Specialists & Partners at AWS. “AWS Marketplace in India eliminates traditional procurement friction by enabling local currency transactions, simplified tax compliance, and streamlined workflows—giving Indian customers faster access to cutting-edge technologies.”

Praveen Sridhar, Head of Partner Business, AWS India and South Asia, said the expansion opens new growth avenues for technology providers. “It enables Indian ISVs, System Integrators, and Channel Partners to expand their reach efficiently while streamlining compliance,” he said. “This reflects our commitment to India’s technology ecosystem and accelerates innovation across the country’s digital economy.”

AWS Marketplace has more than 30,000 transactable listings across over 70 software categories, including Security, Agentic AI and Tools, DevOps, and Data & Analytics. The expanded platform positions itself as a growth engine for partners by simplifying access to customers and enabling faster procurement cycles.

The industry has also Girish Ramachandran, President – Growth Markets, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), said that the partnership will enable us to deliver greater agility, faster innovation, and value-driven cloud solutions for enterprises across India.”
Arundhati Bhattacharya, CEO – South Asia, Salesforce, said the move builds on the company’s global success with AWS Marketplace. “We will be bringing Salesforce solutions to AWS Marketplace in India, empowering customers to leverage our AI-powered CRM tools in INR with simplified tax compliance,” she said.
Pratyush Kumar, Co-founder of Sarvam, added that the launch aligns with India’s push for homegrown AI infrastructure. “This collaboration strengthens our mission to build India’s Sovereign AI stack and bring population-scale, India-first GenAI solutions to enterprises and governments across Bharat,” he said.

Earlier this year, AWS announced its plan to invest $8.3 billion into cloud infrastructure in the AWS Asia-Pacific (Mumbai) Region in Maharashtra, to further expand cloud computing capacity in India. This investment is estimated to contribute $15.3 billion to India’s gross domestic product (GDP) and support more than 81,300 full-time jobs annually in the local data centre supply chain by 2030. The $8.3 billion investment is part of AWS’s previously announced $12.7 billion investment in cloud infrastructure in India by 2030 to meet growing customer demand for cloud services across the country.
