FY25 marked a defining leap in Ambuja Cements’ journey towards becoming a technology-driven organisation. With a legacy of over 140 years across the Cement Business, Ambuja has initiated digitalisation efforts, advanced analytics, automation, and an innovation-led culture.

In its annual report for the financial year 2025, Ambuja said that it has embedded technology across the value chain—leveraging AI, IoT, automation, and machine learning to elevate operational efficiency and predictive capabilities.

Collaboration with the Adani Group’s AI Labs has accelerated the deployment of cutting-edge models for optimising clinker production, personalising customer engagement, and streamlining logistics. These initiatives are already generating significant impact, with logistics route deviations reduced by 23%, and further cost efficiencies expected as models mature. To be sure, Ambuja and its subsidiary ACC were acquired by Adani Group from the Swiss company Holcim in September 2022.

Digital infrastructure at scale

In its annual report, Ambuja said that it has transitioned to SAP Suite on HANA within just six weeks, integrated with Azure data centres to ensure high availability and seamless recovery. Modernisation projects, including SD-WAN deployment and WiFi upgrades across sites, have also reduced network rollout times and improved real-time communication.

Ambuja continues to invest in advanced analytics for plant operations, maintenance, logistics, and workforce optimisation. Machine learning tools now support predictive maintenance and process optimisation, reducing downtime and improving asset utilisation.

A standout innovation in FY25 is the IU-GU Clinker Allocation Optimiser, built using Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP). The tool integrates data on demand, inventories, logistics costs, rake availability, and production capacity to recommend the most efficient clinker movement plan across integrated and grinding units. With scenario planning available in seconds through Power BI dashboards, the optimiser has improved cost efficiencies, strengthened inventory decisions, and contributed to savings of ₹150 crore.

Ambuja’s Digital In-Plant Automation initiative is improving logistics efficiency and safety. Equipped with GPS tracking, RFID, and algorithm-driven route optimisation, the system ensures monitoring of fleets, protocol compliance, route adherence, and a safety dashboard for visibility.

The introduction of a new General Ledger (GL) has streamlined financial workflows and enhanced compliance. Furthermore, the Company’s Digital Project Dashboard has enhanced project oversight by enabling centralised progress tracking, real-time cost monitoring, and proactive risk management.

Customer and channel engagement

Ambuja’s digital platforms are creating a unified, tech-enabled customer ecosystem. The NexGen Sales & Reward Platform and solutions such as One Connect and Adani Cement Connect have transformed sales efficiency and channel engagement by enabling real-time account updates, AI-led visit planning, and automated performance tracking.

Currently, 3,000 sales and technical members, 23,000 channel partners, and 6,20,000 contractors actively use Ambuja’s digital CRM platform.
Ambuja also supports consumers and partners at ground level, operating 91,660 certified technology sites and deploying tailor-made solutions through dedicated B2B and B2C teams.

Cybersecurity for digital trust

As Ambuja accelerates digitalisation, cybersecurity remains a cornerstone. The Company operates with a robust ISO 27001-certified Cyber Defence Centre through the Adani Group, ensuring resilient protection across networks, plants, and applications. Key initiatives include: IT-OT network segmentation across multiple plants; real-time OT threat detection; AI tool security controls; air-gap backups; regular policy updates, upgrades, and user training. These systems collectively safeguard Ambuja’s digital ecosystem and ensure operational integrity.

For FY25, Ambuja Cements reported a record revenue of ₹35,045 crore and a record profit after tax of ₹5,158 crore, marking a 6% and 9% year-on-year increase, respectively
