Indian IT services provider, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), on Friday, unveiled an AI upgrade to its flagship TCS BaNCS platform with the launch of TCS BaNCS AI Compass, an advanced AI core designed to accelerate innovation for banks and securities services firms.
The upgrade brings together machine learning, deep learning and generative AI, along with a suite of pre-built intelligent agents, enabling financial institutions to optimise existing capabilities and generate actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and strengthen risk management.

Designed for technology and business decision-makers, TCS BaNCS AI Compass aims to drive the adoption of responsible and explainable AI, streamline workflows and unlock new growth opportunities. That said, it can help CIO/CTOs and other CXOs apply AI in practical ways, improving efficiency while managing risk more effectively.

In banking, the platform’s pre-built agents support use cases such as customer onboarding, credit underwriting and personalised query resolution across multiple channels. For securities services firms, the AI engine can augment human decision-making by predicting the tax treatment of payouts, classifying dividends and interest, identifying missing data, and simplifying the ingestion and interpretation of complex documents.
